It has been festival season a while now but with Longitude being on this weekend I thought I would do a festival style post. Being festival season means bring out the tents and heading to the field for 2/3 days of music, drink and sunshine (maybe not in Ireland though…) This post is going to be filled with festival outfits for inspiration! I love seeing other peoples outfits and going about putting my own style onto it.
I used to never wear red, hated the colour and now I love it.. I fell in love with the jacket Michael Jackson wore and had to have one. Its a nice twist with a colour and far away from black. As I wear too much black it is nice to have a colour to make it pop.
If your like me and love a red leather jacket, here are a few outfit ideas (from pinterest);
This trend has quite the modern chic feeling to it. It’s quite a tricky piece to style as you could get it completely wrong! It’s not a trend for everyone but I love it! Here is a few images that will help you style them if you are like me and want to master this trend.
Seeing this on blogger Dominique Nugent (Love Fashion and Fros) instagram just set me off to love this style!
I watched the documentary “Advanced Style” which is about a man, Ari Seth Cohen, who set up a blog that he photographed and interviewed stylish older woman that he saw around New York. Ari started the blog to inspire people to look at aging in a new light, he has beautiful images showing strong stylish senior citizens. His blog has also been made into a book and also the documentary film I watched. Ari said that young woman could also learn from the documentary “the Advanced Style ladies are confident, bold, expressive and incredibly vital. I hope younger woman are inspired by their freedom and individuality” which I agree with!
These woman have grown old and glamorously which sounds like the way I would love to. These woman tell their life stories and it’s great to learn there wisdom. The woman know themselves which is the key to style! This documentary shows there’s always something to look forward to at any age.
I just finished watching the Jeremy Scott documentary on Netflix and it is very good! He has worked with the likes of Rita Ora, Katy Perry, A$ap Rocky and miley Cyrus and has had Gigi Hadid model for him on the runway. But most of all he has taking over the Italian brand Moschino. He has turned sponge bob and even McDonald’s into a fashion statement! You can nearly say he’s a rebel in the fashion industry.
“I don’t speak Italian, but I do speak Moschino”
The documentary is very inspiring as Jeremy is one of a kind, different and a true creative man. He loved art and just didn’t want to wear clothes that were in fashion like everyone else did as they don’t want to stand out but he wasn’t afraid to do that! His school even wanted him to dress someway “Normal”
It’s a real eye opener for people these days to choose what makes you feel good, you are the one wearing it, why you should care what other people think?? fashion is for you to express yourself and for you to discover your own fashion personality and feel good about your appearance. How many times have you worn items because they are fashionable or because “so and so” is wearing them? When you choose these types of clothing your not thinking of your own style personality unless you put your own stamp on it rather than copying the outfit 100%. Social media can lead you to believe that you have to look a certain way, but you don’t! We are all unique, so why would we all want to look the same! His clothes and style is not for everyone, I know but he wants to inspire you to be yourself! Don’t be afraid to express yourself!
“Sometimes my work can be misunderstood, but I’m just trying to bring joy and a smile to people’s faces. My clothes aren’t for everyone to wear, perhaps, and I don’t expect everyone to. But hopefully you can still enjoy them.“
I would give it a 10/10 and if you are into fashion I would recommend it.
When I was growing up I was a massive fan of chokers, specially a pink or black ones. Summer 16 has been the comeback for 90s Choker Style!! Is strange seeing trends you remember growing up come back into fashion years later, but its all a circle everything comes back into fashion with a modern twist!
In 2016 there is way more different styles of chokers such as the velvet wide or thin band, ribbon style, wraps and even necklace type. They are EVERYWHERE!
Sometimes I get in the mood of wearing no accessories so I was glad to see this choker style top. This type of tops incorporates a choker into it. I have gotten a few of my favourite choker style tops I found online at the moment, all different types (from casual to smart, colours and sizes!) These tops make an outfit appear more stylish as there is a lot of choices and you can put your own twist on the outfit!
