Luna Miracle Hair Treatment

Hey dolls!

I was excited to see a blogger launch a hair product and when I seen Lisa Jordan, Just Jordan come out with the brand “Luna” and her second product being a big surprise, a leave in hair treatment, I knew I had to have it and try it out! I purchased mine in Grow unltd in Waterford.  First impressions where good, the packaging looks pretty its something you would want in your hair care products.

I have used it since I bought it and there was a once off that I didn’t use it and I noticed such a difference, by god this is a miracle!!. When I started using it I instantly knew I would love it! I had Beauty Work extensions in my hair 6 months and it gave them a boost each time and gave them an amazing shine also. I found the product helped me detangle the extensions and smoothen them out. Also not to mention the smell it gives, its devine, which is very important with a hair product! When I use a product on a client the smell is what gives the first reaction “oooh whats that!” so having a nice smell for me is a key point. I now have my extensions out and have been still using this in my hair each time!

Bad Hair Day? not any more!

We have all experienced those days when our hair just does not cooperate the way we would like it to be,  don’t deny it! Whether it’s bed hair, second day hair, or a simply just a bad hair day – here are 6 simply easy and quick tips on how to fix it! Dont worry you will not need to do a Britney moment and shave your head!

1. Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo absorbs excess oils and adds a volumizing texture to your hair. If you don’t have dry shampoo handy, try this simple trick: take a small amount, about a teaspoon size of baby powder and gently massage it into your scalp at the roots. This will also absorb excess oils and make your hair appear fresher but this method mainly works on lighter hair as dark hair will have a grey look on your hair.

Tip: use little by little of the dry shampoo, make sure not to use too much, or otherwise it will be noticeable.

2. Braids, braids, braids

I just love braids anyway but not only will they cover up that second day hair, they also look so much better on second or third day hair. For some ideas on what kinds of braids you can try out:

3. Tease your roots

For flat hair, backcombing the roots will instantly lift the hair and give it a lively, fuller look.

4. Embrace the frizz

Your hair doesn’t need to be perfectly smooth at all times. Why not go with your frizz rather than against it by lightly braiding or putting your hair in a boho hairstyle , and just be confident with it?

5. Wash half your hair

This one may sound a little strange, I know, but for a lot of us the process of washing and drying the hair can take a long time and is just complete effort. When you’re in a rush, take the front part of your hair and wash that section only (maybe even in the sink). If you have a fringe, just go ahead and wash the fringe. This will give an illusion that you have freshly washed hair and take the attention away from what you’re trying to hide!!

6. Rock that cute hat or headband

This one is a major one!! If you have tried all of the above and your hair is still annoying you or your just too lazy to even try attempt to fix it, than throw on a hat to disguise it all! Try rocking a cute hat with a side braid, or tease your hair at the crown and put on a thick headband. Ta-da what bad hair day?

It’s only a bad hair day if we allow it to be one. You are beautiful no matter what, stay confident and smile lots. If you do not attract attention to your not so perfect hair on those bad hair days, I am telling you, nobody will even notice a thing about it!! 🙂

Festival Hair Ideas!

My most loved time of the year is Festival Season. With Coachella over but more music festivals to happen during the summer this is the perfect time to try these looks out. What I love about festival looks is you can be unique and go crazy!!

coachella

My favourite looks would have to be ; Space buns, coloured hair, double dutch braids, glitter roots and middle parting braids. With festival looks don’t forget to accessories! This year there is way more accessories that just a flower crown, even though I do love that! Try adding hair charms to your braids, weave some coloured wool through your hair, head scarf or even fresh flowers.

Tips for Oily Hair!

Struggle with oily hair? I totally get it.

There’s nothing more annoying than taking a nice cleansing and refreshing shower, and waking up the following day and wondering why your hair is oily enough to fry an egg. Looking for some quick and easy tips on how to help oily hair? Keep reading…

1. Hair Wash Cycle

For someone who has naturally oily hair, it’s actually best to not wash your hair as often as you may think. Most people tend to go straight for the shampoo and assume they’re simply due for another shower when they feel their hair is oily. Washing your hair every day or even every other day, however, will result in your hair producing more oil because it’s trying to compensate for the oil lost. Basically, your sebaceous glands are confused.

It will take time to train your hair to get used to your new wash cycle, but with time, you will start to see results. We recommend to try and reduce your hair wash cycle to only 2 or 3 (at the very most) washes per week. I would wash it twice a week. When washing your hair, start off with warm water when washing so that it opens up your pores and cleanses, and when it comes time to rinse opt for cooler water so that your pores close.

Another great tip: minimize the use of conditioner. If you’re one to slather on the conditioner, try cutting it back to just a small amount or even skip it a few times each shower session to minimize oil build up, as it can activate oil production quicker. The proper way to use conditioner is putting it all throughout the length of the hair, because that is where the hair needs to be conditioned the most. The natural oils will take care of moisturizing the roots.

I know it can be tough leaving the house when your hair feels and looks oily, but here is a few hairstyles you can do.

2. Straight Hair vs Curly Hair

Have you ever noticed that you can usually go a day or two longer without washing your hair if you’ve curled it? If your hair lays flat and you’re guilty for straightening it often, try to lay low on the straightening products as the closer your hair is to your head and the straighter it is, the more oil it comes in contact with, and the easier it is for the oil to make its way down your hair.

3. Keep Your Hands Away From Your Hair

The twirling of hair or the brushing of your hair back that you subconsciously do throughout the day all contribute to the oil build-up you see in your hair. If you struggle keeping your hands away from your hair throughout the day, try tying it up in a bun at the beginning of the day so there are no temptations.

4. Dry Shampoo!!

Dry shampoo is a loved product by me. There are so many benefits to it, but the most obvious one is that it soaks up the oil in your hair and helps give the illusion of freshly washed hair, without the inconvenience and time it takes to actually wash your hair.

Other cool benefits of dry shampoo are, it acts as a texturizing spray and help provide extra volume at the roots, if you’re trying to create a more voluminous hair style. Be sure to only use a small amount as you can always add more, and don’t forget to massage it in well!

5. Reduce the Use of Hair Products

We understand that sometimes you may have to use a little bit of hairspray or mousse to perfect that curl or hairstyle, but many hair styling products like gels, mousses, and creams contain oils and other ingredients that can contribute to the buildup of hair oil. I would recommend to use a little amount of these products as you can.

Low maintenance hair colour?

sarah jessica parker - hair  Beauty Look Book: Sarah Jessica Parkers style and hair looks (Glamour.com UK):  I couldn't help but wonder which titles Sarah Jessica Parker would choose for her Bookprint...:

Balayage has been around for quite some time now but its one of the most popular hair colouring techniques today. There is a lot of people wearing this but Sarah Jessica Parker is the queen of this colouring technique.

What is Balayage?

It is a French word meaning sweep or to paint. It is a sun kissed natural looking colour for your hair, the principle idea is less is more! This can all be done freehand without foil or meche. A lot of celebs are wearing this hair colour technique, its all over the place even catwalks and red carpets. Balayage works for all lengths except very short cropped hair.

Does it require a lot of maintenance?

No, very little actually! It grows out beautiful and naturally so there is no obvious growth line which can be worn longer between appointments. Balayage isn’t all about the blondes, it can be any colour you want! (red heads, brunettes, crazy colour tend, ANY!) To protect this style hair using a colour protection shampoo and conditioner really helps, I recommend Wella SP Colour Save, Regular treatments and heat protection when styling the hair. For blondes I would recommend Wella SP Silver Shampoo to clean up the blonde and get rid of any brassy tones. This hairstyle can be worn both straight or curly!

Debs Hair Tips & Inspo

Debs season is upon us and I had one of my followers ask me to do a small blog post about debs hair. You may be going to a debs this year and your unsure on what to do with your hair!

When choosing your debs hairstyle, make sure to keep your dress in mind. Your hairstyle and your dress should complement one another.

  • Arrive to the salon with clean dry hair. Wash hair night before with a volumize shampoo and no conditioner! This will give a great result for your hair style.
  • In the lead up to your debs try to keep your hair in tip top condition
  • Wear a button up top to the hair salon so you don’t have to take it off over your head afterwards. This will avoid messing up your hair style.
  • To keep your hair intact for the whole day make sure to pop a mini hairspray and a few bobby pins into your bag. Using these to fix any fly away strands that have come loose.
  • If you have extensions make sure they are clean, dry and brushed through. This is a time saver for your stylist and then can focus on your finished look opposed to be worrying about the extensions.
  • Bring as many images for inspiration!

Hope these tip have helped you. Have you any additional tips to share with us?

Here are a few Hair pictures for some inspiration:

Signs you NEED A HAIRCUT / NEW LOOK

IF YOU’RE CONFUSSED WHETHER YOU NEED A NEW HAIR STYLE, TAKE SOME INSPIRATION FROM KIM KARDASHIAN…

4 signs you needs a new look

The internet went into meltdown again this week when we seen a picture of Kim Kardashian with her hair chopped into a blunt lob but matter of fact turns out the new look  – ITS A WIG!!

At this point I think if we see any Kardashian/Jenner change there hairstyle – Its not real..

13767588_160562127701392_2082358511_n

A lot of people this year have gone for the chop and got a complete new hairstyle (Like you may know I myself got a few inches off my hair) But I got to say I have loved my hair since I got it done.

Here are questions to ask yourself that may help you make up your mind if it’s time for a change, and do you need a haircut…

* Did your hairstylist cut layers the last time you got your hair cut, and now your hair is nearing one length? It’s time for a trim at the very-least.

* Have you had the exact same length for the past five years, and to ensure your dead ends are gone, you only get a few cm chopped?

* Is your hair looking thinner? The longer fine hair grows, the thinner it looks. A shorter cut can give you the appearance of thicker, healthier hair.

* What sort of maintenance is involved in new style and can I handle it? Are you ready for high maintenance?

* What is the growing out process going to be like?

I know it seems silly to put so much thought into getting a haircut, but as anyone who has ever had a bad haircut knows, it’s best to really be sure about these things!

Are you considering cutting your hair?

Any more questions, Let me know, and if you do get the chop Make sure you tag me in pictures 🙂
